Artist's Statement
I love color. As a child, I loved to play with colored markers to create mosaic-like
designs on paper doilies. After raising two children and running my own my
businesses, I have returned to my love of color.
As a self-taught mosaicist, I learned my craft the hard way.
After many mistakes, I mastered the highly important technique and
technical aspects of creating a lasting, durable and beautiful mosaic designs.
My mosaic designs are labor intensive, placing each piece one by one,
paying special attention to the small details by sanding or grinding each mosaic piece
to ensure no sharp edges. Then grout is custom colored to match each design and
finally sealed to withstand the elements.
I am most happy in my studio creating and "playing" with my colors…
glazed porcelain tiles, artist and vitreous glass, recycled jewelry, found objects,
mirrors, and china are all part of my mosaic art.
